Our Trip

Sorry it has been sooooo long since I have posted. We have been crazy busy. Our Thanksgiving was great. We spent it with both of our families and we're so grateful for all our blessings. For those of you who don't know Kelly and I decided to go to Mexico to see mom and dad. We decided to take a whole 10 days. We left on the 4th of December and went as far as Las Vegas. I have never been to Las Vegas so I wanted to stop and stay. It was also the first weekend of the National Finals Rodeo, so we wanted to join in some of the festivities. We knew quite a few people down there so we met up with some of them and hung out. We spent two nights at the Stratosphere. It was nice, we went to the top and took some pictures. No we didn't ride the rides, but we watched and they look scary. We did however ride the roller coaster at New York New York. It was fun, I haven't been on a roller coaster in years. Also we went to the shark reef in Mandalay Bay. It was pretty cool. I am just going to put up a bunch of pictures. Some of them didn't turn out so well. This shark has a funny nose, and this one has a broken fin. We did take some time to go to Cowboy Christmas. Durig the rodeo they always have the convention center set up with shopping. Anything cowboy you can think of is there. This is me sitting in a $350K living quarters horse trailer. Other than that we gambled a lot (no we are not winners), ate, and took in the sites. From there it was on to Phoenix where we stayed the night with Kelly's cousin. When we crossed Hoover Dam we stopped for a quick picture. While in Phoenix we stopped by Estrella Park. When Kelly was a child his family came down to Arizona every winter for 6 months and ran this arena. He has quite a few memories here and I have heard several stories, so it was fun to go and see. After that we made the journey to Mexico. We arrived Monday afternoon and stayed till Saturday morning. Fortunately we missed the very cold weather in Idaho. They were in the negatives. Unfortunately Mexico was having a little cold front too. It was in the upper 50's at night and in the low 70's during the day. It really wasn't too bad except it was breezy, so it wasn't quite warm enough to get in the water. That didn't matter though we really enjoyed visiting with mom and dad and having some relax time. There are great seashells on the beaches. We had a blast picking all the cool ones up. We went fishing one day. We only caught 1 tuna, but then we did some bottom fishing and caught sea bass. After the fishing they took us to this neat area and made us fish tacos. It was a great area for snorkeling and the water was so clear. We got in the water for a couple of minutes but then got out because it was kind of cool. There is a stingray in this picture. We weren't in the water very long but something stung me. In the course of the next couple of days I developed an extremely itchy rash. It was like a whole bunch of little blisters on my arms and a little on my legs. It is much better now though. One day we kayaked out to a secluded beach. It was fun and we found some cool shells. That is pretty much it for our trip, other than the four hours we sat at the border waiting in line. It was ridiculous and so frustrating. All in all it was a great trip, we had tons of fun. On a side note mom said it has been 80 and beautiful since we left, oh well. Now we are busy getting ready for Christmas and all the festivities.

Hunting and Halloween

Sorry it has been so long. We are staying pretty busy with work. October is hunting season so are weekends have been busy too. We didn't draw any extra tags this year, so we only had the general deer season to try and get something. We spent three weekends hiking our buts off to the top of the mountain, then sitting, waiting, watching, and....................we didn't get anything. I was kind of sad, I really wanted a deer, but we still had fun. I love hunting and and spending time with my husband. It is so peaceful and awe inspiring sometimes. We have been blessed the last couple of years to get something. You can't have it all every year, there is still plenty of meat in the freezer from last year, so we'll try again next year. We did see lots of wild life just not any bucks. One of the days we came upon three bull moose. Two of them were fighting a little, it was pretty cool. We could see them really good, but in the picture they look really far away. They were a lot closer in real life. There are two moose in this picture, can you see them? After hunting season it was Halloween. On Friday the girls and I at work dressed up. I was a Hawaiian tourist, I think. I had to work a little bit on Saturday so I dressed up again. This time I wore some of my Moroccan stuff. Skye and Ryan came over and we all had the same idea. That night we went to a party and they had an auction, I got this super cute purse. Ok, well that's pretty much it for us, until next time.

Still here

Yes we are still alive. We have been super busy with work and every weekend we have been hunting. Deer season has closed now(no we didn't get anything) so maybe this weekend I will get up a real post. Other than that everything is the same.

Lola Loves......

Sorry it has been awhile, everything is pretty much the same. Our grass is looking fabulous. I really can't wait till next year, it will look even better. We are getting ready for hunting season, so hopefully in a couple of weeks we will have some good pictures for you. Since we don't really have anything new to post I thought I would do a post about the things Lola loves. We have had her for 7 months now and it has been so much fun. She is our baby and we love her although sometimes she is a big pain in the butt. It amazes me how smart she is (for those of you who don't know she is litter box trained). She also has a big attitude, when she is mad at you she will go in her cage and pout. Anyway here is a post about all the things Lola loves (most of the pictures are a couple months old, she is a little bigger and fatter now).
Lola loves newspaper, when I say she loves it I mean she LOVES it. She likes to pull out from under the coffee table. She likes to crawl under it and get a hold of it with her mouth and run around, but most of all she likes to rip it and eat it. I checked it is okay for her to eat it. We keep them stocked under the coffee table and she knows which ones are hers. Lola loves her litter box and she loves to go play outside. We have a baby gate on our deck so she can't get off and she loves to go out there and run around. When she wants to come back in she sits at the window and gives the door a little scratch. Lola loves to run really fast and jump up in the air. She doesn't do it as much as she did when she was little (maybe she is to fat) but she still does sometimes and it makes me laugh. Sometimes she likes to get up on the big chair with us, but not very often. She really loves her cousins. Most of all Lola loves me, she will even give me kisses ( she'll put her nose right on mine). We love Lola and we have really enjoyed having her.

Green Fuzz

There are many different types of green fuzz. There is anything from the green fuzz you get on your food when you don't eat it fast enough, to a fuzzy green Muppet named Oscar (he was green right?). I am so excited about my green fuzz. I have been waiting for a long time and it's finally here. Yes, my green fuzz is grass! We finally got it planted a little over a week ago. It is just starting to come in, so that is why I call it green fuzz. Unless you lay down you can't see individual grass blades, there is just this coating of green fuzz. Don't worry though it is going to grow fast from here on out. By next summer I will have a beautiful yard. I took some pictures, I hope the green fuzz shows up. I promise it is really there, actually I took these pictures about 3 days ago and I can't believe how much it has grown. It has practically doubled.

Flowerholic!

I have had this post that I have been wanting to put up all summer. I finally have a few minutes ad nothing else to post about, Yeah!! This spring I loaded up in my car and set out to buy some flowers. I do this every spring, it is one of my favorite things. I went from shop to shop getting some of these and some of those. As I was driving away from the last store I glanced in my rear view and realized I had a problem. There was no room for another human in my Tahoe. The seats were covered with pots, the floor boards with bags of potting soil, and in the back was a carpet of bright colors. Then I called my husband and told him I had an addiction and needed some help. I am FLOWERHOLIC!!! I had totally blown my budget and dipped into my secret cash stash(that really is not a secret). I didn't care I love flowers. All summer I have been taking pictures so I could do this post. So here are most of my flowers. From pansies to petunias Daisy and Dahlias. Purples, pinks, reds, and blues. Yellow and orange ones too. Little ones and big ones. Short ones and tall ones. Some kind of off the wall ones. I don't care they all make me smile. If you like you can come and sit for awhile. P.S.- just a little side note, my roses look even better now that they have had all summer. Also I don't have any pictures of all my early spring flowers like my Iris and my tulips. Right now my Gladiolas and my orange Dahlias look amazing but I don't have pictures of those either.

Farewell

This last week was Cody's mission farewell. All of my sisters were in town, and some of their husbands even made it. On Saturday we had a big birthday/farewell party for Cody. Sunday he talked and all of us girls sang. All of the other days we just had family time. I love my family. When we get together we are goofy, but we have so much fun. I also love my nieces and nephews, they say and do the funniest things. Somehow through all the fun family time and the preparing a missionary for the MTC I never took 1 picture. So if you would really like to see pictures and feel like you were part of the fun, feel free to check mom's blog or Cali and Travis'. Cami's has some really good pictures too if you are allowed on there. Other than that Kelly and I have been super busy this month of August. We work all week and between rodeos, farewells, weddings, and more rodeos we have had something going every weekend. One of these days I will get up a real post. Until then I hope you are all having as much fun as we are, and I love you!
