Visitors and Baby Showers!!

As many of you know my sisters Skye and Cami came to town for a week. They are both pregnant as well. Cami is due a week after I am, Sept. 15, and Skye is due Oct. 21. We had a surprise shower for Skye at my sister Hillary's house. It was a beautiful day, and she had a perfectly cute house and backyard for it. It went well and we got some great pictures. I love spending time with my sisters we have so much fun. On Sat. we took Cami, Lily, Ransom, Gideon, Travis fishing. We didn't catch anything but it was still fun. Lily was great at fishing. She sits very patiently, Ransom loves to throw rocks, and Gideon just loves to do it all. Ransom looked so cute in his carhartt overalls. He sure liked grandpa and uncle Kelly. Monday we had another shower for Skye with her friends from Idaho. Tuesday Cami and Cali threw a shower for me. It was awesome! Thank you to everyone who came. We got some great gifts, and I got to see some old friends. My sisters chipped in and got us a pack n play. It is great. Thanks for all the gifts. There were 5 of us there that were pregnant. Here we are in order Julie was due June 9 ( I haven't heard if she had it yet), Amber is due Aug 25, Katie is due Aug 26, Me Sept. 7, and Cami Sept 15. It got me pretty excited for her to get here. We had such a great visit with my sisters and the kids. They grow up too fast. Before they left we had to give them horse rides. The kids loved it. We loved being with you guys. Can't wait to see you again, maybe we can come that way next time.

Belly Explosion!!

Well nothing too exciting has happened this month. We have been working, golfing, and doing all of our spring yard work. The only new thing around our house (besides Kelly's golf equipment) is my belly. I went back to the Dr. this week and I gained about 4 1/2 lbs in a month! I weigh more now than I ever have. Everything looks good. I still feel great, although I do have some days where I feel completely exhausted. My belly has exploded this month. I can't believe the difference between last month and this month. I know that she is definitely getting bigger, you can see her when she moves sometimes. To me, my belly looks a lot bigger than it does in the pictures. This picture was taken 2 weeks ago. It's not big enough to bother me though. It hasn't been getting in the way or causing pain (other than growing pains). The only thing I have noticed is when I put on shoes or try to tee up my golf ball. My belly sits kind of high so any bending straight forward takes my breath away for a second. I took this picture yesterday. The good news about that is I can still wear my pants. They are really snug though because my back end and my thighs have grown a lot too. I want to know what my thighs have to do with the baby in my belly? I have to convince myself that it is ok to start looking at maternity clothes. Overall I'm doing pretty good for 6 months pregnant.

Ultrasound Results!!!

We made it half way! I can't believe it, but it still seems like so far to go. Tomorrow I start my 20th week. The baby moves around a lot lately. Sporadically through the day and especially when I lay down at night. I have still been feeling great. I am definitely getting a little baby bump. We went this morning and had our ultrasound. It was exciting. It's fun to see the baby moving around, and to be reassured that it has all it's arms, legs, and etc. All of the measurements looked good, and I am right on schedule. She said the baby is about 11oz. She also said that the baby is going to be a ........GIRL!!! (See there are no extra parts.) The ultrasound tech kept commenting on how much she moves around. Here are a few pictures. This one she is on her back and it's a profile, head, nose mouth, and belly.
The thing right above her face is her hand. She liked them up there, and I think she was even sucking her thumb at one point. This one was the best 3D one she could get. Because of her hands and the umbilical cord right in her face, we couldn't get a front view just a profile. I'm sure you can see her forehead, nose, lips, and the blob right under her chin is her fist. Anyway it was pretty exciting.

Kelly Fishing

About a month ago Kelly went steelhead fishing with the guys. They said it was way fun as usual. They caught a bunch of fish the first day, but the second day wasn't very good. That's ok Kelly still came home with two fish. They were yummy.

Babies & Birthdays

Wednesday was my 28th birthday. It was great. My husband spoiled me and made me feel so special. He got me a gift certificate for a massage, and a new target for my .22. The kind that when you hit it, it will flip over. Then at work he brought a cake for all of us. Cali and the kids came to visit, and they brought me a yummy fancy cupcake. She gave me some cute p.j.'s that I can wear when I get bigger. On Sunday we are going to have family dinner. In baby news I went to the Dr. again, everything is great. I've gained about 7 lbs, and I'm starting to get a little bump. Well it doesn't really look like a bump, more like I need to suck in my gut. It's getting there. I felt my first little movements this last week so that was exciting. My ultrasound is scheduled for April 19. That seems so crazy, I will be halfway by then. That's pretty much it. Kelly went steelhead fishing so I will try to get his pictures up soon.

1 Trimester down..2 to go!

Well I don't know if I am officially done with the first trimester until next week, but I start week 12 today. We went to the Dr. yesterday and they listened to the heartbeat (166 beats per min) and they told me my labs looked great and we'll see you in a month. Kelly went with me so he could hear the heart beat too. He has the easy part, he only has to make it to two more appointments, the ultrasound & the delivery. That's probably a good thing though, he doesn't really like Dr.'s offices. Other than that everything is pretty much the same. The animals are all great and still alive. It is still cold and snowy, but my next appointment is the end of March and that lights a little candle of hope inside my soul for warmer weather to come. I hope this little post holds you over until something more exciting happens.

2 Firsts

Well I had 2 first this week. #1- I sewed my first project on my new sewing machine. It is not the first thing I have ever sewn, It's just the first project on my very own machine. I've done a little mending on it as well. Some pants, socks, and even the zipper on the ice hut. I am very excited about the pillow though. The center of the pillow I actually stitched about 5 years ago. When I first started working at the salon there was a lot of waiting around in between clients. (fortunately I'm blessed and it's not like that anymore) So I went to the quilt store and got this pattern for these cute blocks. You don't make a blanket out of them, you just sew 1, or 2, or 4,or 6, and you make wall hangings, decorations, or pillows. It said to sew them by hand it makes them more unique. Plus I didn't have a sewing machine and I was doing it at work so I had to do it by hand. As you can see I made 1 block and that was enough for me. It wasn't that bad just very time consuming (and I was starting to get busier). I added the muslin around the edges and embroidered it with flowers and buttons, then I called it good. I had great intentions of framing it or doing something, that never happened. So for the last 5 years it has been sitting in my craft box. After Christmas I was going through my craft box looking for something I could sew and there it was. It was perfect and I wanted to do something with it because I spent so much time on it. I got some of the left over fabric, because originally I was going to make a bunch of blocks, and made a pillow. I even put my initials on the back.
Now for first #2 - I'm sure if you noticed the side bar you have been waiting for this part. I had to write the one about the pillow first, because if I wrote this one first you might not have ever made it to the pillow. I had my first OB. appointment today! Yes it is official, I am 8 weeks pregnant. It is still a little early but it was getting to hard to keep a secret any longer. My due date is Sept. 7. I hope everything keeps going smoothly. It has been pretty good so far, no sickness or really any symptoms. We are both very excited and can't wait. Anyway that's about it. It has been a pretty good week.
