Ending of an Era

This last weekend was very sad for my husband and his family. His family has produced the Island Park Rodeo for 64 years. It is the first weekend in August every year, and to Kelly's family it is bigger than Christmas.
Because of a pending legal matter (which I think is ridiculous, don't get me started) they have been asked to take down the arena, and they won't be able to hold the rodeo there anymore. So we found it fitting to go up on the weekend that would have been the rodeo and finish taking it down. Everyone tried to stay in good spirits although there were tears shed. We played lots of volleyball amidst the tearing down. Yes, I played 8 months pregnant and all. Kelly made sure he fished the creek one last time. I can't imagine how his family felt, it was sad for me and I have only been going since 2003. Kelly was at his first IP Rodeo when he was 10 days old. We have some great memories there, it's the first place Kelly told me he loved me! I guess life moves on though, and the sad things in life are what make us really treasure the happy things. I keep trying to be positive and think maybe in the future we can have it again. It would have to be at a different location so it wouldn't be exactly the same, but it would be better than nothing. Anyway here are some pictures of years past just to end on a good note.

Summer Fun

So far our summer has been great, other than it is going by way to fast. We have been golfing a lot on the weekends. It is always so nice to be doing things outside. So far the baby hasn't bothered my golf game. Actually I think I have been doing a little better, until the last couple of holes when I start to get tired. Over the 4th we went and helped Kelly's family with a rodeo just south of Preston. In between the two performances we golfed, played some horseshoes, and just hung out. No my husband does not normally dress like that, he was just goofing off. I think that hat belongs to his niece, and he found it in the trailer. We did go fishing this last weekend. The water has been so high this year that we haven't been able to fish as much as usual. We went up to Blackfoot reservoir. Everyone has been talking about how good the fishing is up there this year, but apparently it is slowing down. We didn't catch anything, and neither did anyone else we talked to while we were up there. We didn't stay out very long, it was pretty windy and we had grandma and grandpa with us. So we got behind a rock where the wind wasn't so bad and decided to have a picnic. I really enjoyed the day even though we didn't catch fish. Yes I am there, but as usual I am taking the pictures so there's not any of me. In other news the animals are doing great. They love the summer and being able to run outside. My yard and my flowers are doing great finally. It took a little while for things to warm up, but now that it is warm everything looks great. In baby news everything is going great! My belly keeps getting bigger and bigger. She is very active. At some point every day you can watch my belly ripple and roll and bounce. It looks like an alien is trying to get out. I finally broke down and bought a bunch of cute maternity clothes. I had been grabbing a few random things here and there, but generally cheap and clearance because I wanted to save money. A lot of people told me when I got big enough not to fight it and get into maternity clothes, because they are more comfortable. For me it wasn't about comfort, it was about self esteem. When I finally broke down and bought some cute shirts instead of the first, cheap, over sized thing I could find, I felt so much better about my self. I can still get into some of my normal clothes, but it's nice to have cute maternity shirts too. So my advice to pregnant women is to save a little money to spend on cute clothes so you can feel good about yourself. I got a bunch of tops at Old Navy's maternity online. They were actually a good price. Cheaper than at the mall. I went to the Dr. yesterday, they said everything looks good. I have gained 26lbs, and everything is growing like it should. No, I haven't started on the nursery yet. The weather has been so nice that I can't stand being inside. I have a couple of baby showers at the end of this month, so maybe after that I will start getting everything organized and decorated. We don't have any big plans for the rest of the summer, just enjoy the weather. Tomorrow is our anniversary, 4 years! Wow they have gone by fast. It is even more crazy to think we started dating 8 years ago. I couldn't imagine being at this point in my life with anyone else. I love my husband so much, and he is going to be such a great dad. Well that's probably enough for now. I will try to be better at updating. Hope you are having a great summer too.

Visitors and Baby Showers!!

As many of you know my sisters Skye and Cami came to town for a week. They are both pregnant as well. Cami is due a week after I am, Sept. 15, and Skye is due Oct. 21. We had a surprise shower for Skye at my sister Hillary's house. It was a beautiful day, and she had a perfectly cute house and backyard for it. It went well and we got some great pictures. I love spending time with my sisters we have so much fun. On Sat. we took Cami, Lily, Ransom, Gideon, Travis fishing. We didn't catch anything but it was still fun. Lily was great at fishing. She sits very patiently, Ransom loves to throw rocks, and Gideon just loves to do it all. Ransom looked so cute in his carhartt overalls. He sure liked grandpa and uncle Kelly. Monday we had another shower for Skye with her friends from Idaho. Tuesday Cami and Cali threw a shower for me. It was awesome! Thank you to everyone who came. We got some great gifts, and I got to see some old friends. My sisters chipped in and got us a pack n play. It is great. Thanks for all the gifts. There were 5 of us there that were pregnant. Here we are in order Julie was due June 9 ( I haven't heard if she had it yet), Amber is due Aug 25, Katie is due Aug 26, Me Sept. 7, and Cami Sept 15. It got me pretty excited for her to get here. We had such a great visit with my sisters and the kids. They grow up too fast. Before they left we had to give them horse rides. The kids loved it. We loved being with you guys. Can't wait to see you again, maybe we can come that way next time.

Belly Explosion!!

Well nothing too exciting has happened this month. We have been working, golfing, and doing all of our spring yard work. The only new thing around our house (besides Kelly's golf equipment) is my belly. I went back to the Dr. this week and I gained about 4 1/2 lbs in a month! I weigh more now than I ever have. Everything looks good. I still feel great, although I do have some days where I feel completely exhausted. My belly has exploded this month. I can't believe the difference between last month and this month. I know that she is definitely getting bigger, you can see her when she moves sometimes. To me, my belly looks a lot bigger than it does in the pictures. This picture was taken 2 weeks ago. It's not big enough to bother me though. It hasn't been getting in the way or causing pain (other than growing pains). The only thing I have noticed is when I put on shoes or try to tee up my golf ball. My belly sits kind of high so any bending straight forward takes my breath away for a second. I took this picture yesterday. The good news about that is I can still wear my pants. They are really snug though because my back end and my thighs have grown a lot too. I want to know what my thighs have to do with the baby in my belly? I have to convince myself that it is ok to start looking at maternity clothes. Overall I'm doing pretty good for 6 months pregnant.
