Halloween

Halloween was great. We carved pumpkins for the first time in a long time. Grandma Joliene and cousin Jessi came over. Tyree had fun, but did not manage to stay awake for the whole thing. The pumpkin guts didn't seem to bother her. Her favorite part was putting things in the pumpkins and putting the lid back on. On Tuesday night we went to a trunk or treat with Cali, Gideon, and Parker. There was a ton of people, she wasn't so for sure about that. When I got home from work at 6:25 on Wed. night there were people every where. Apparently the ward did their Halloween party and trunk or treat in our little subdivision. It was so fun. I am just sorry I was late because it started at 6. I hurried and put Tyree in her costume (thank goodness it was an easy one) and we got busy handing out candy. She loved it, she would stand on the front porch and yell at the people as they walked up the driveway. Then she would wave Hi and Bye. I did take her to a few of the neighbors houses, but she didn't care for that very much. Once the trick or treaters slowed down, we went and saw the grandparents. That was it for our first Halloween.

Daddy's gone a hunting...

.... and mommy too! Sorry if I haven't kept in touch very well. It's hunting season you know, so for the last 8 weekends we have been out of phone range. For the most part that is really kind of nice. We did a lot more hunting this year than usual. Kelly decided to archery hunt again, plus he drew on an antelope tag. So that gave us even more weekends of hunting pleasure. All of Sept. was just archery, so Tyree and I would hang out at the ranch with the grandparents while Kelly went out. He didn't get anything. Although he saw some nice elk, nothing got quite close enough to shoot. After that hunt ended it was time to get an antelope. Neither of us had ever been on an antelope hunt before. It was different but fun. Mostly just driving around back roads and fields until you see one. Then you have to put the sneak on to get close enough to shoot. This meant that Tyree and I could go. Antelope are a high desert animal, not a timberland one, so this hunt was in Mackay. It was a really pretty place in it's own way, but definitely desert. We bought a little camp trailer a couple weeks ago. I was so glad to have it considering it was 17 degrees every morning. I don't think a tent would have cut it. We parked at the cutest campground right on the Mackay reservoir. After Kelly got his antelope we fished for a couple of hours before heading home. Kelly was able to fill his tag. It wasn't as big as he wanted, but it's decent, and not bad for his first one.

The next two weekends were open for deer, so back up to Gray's Lake we went. The weather was actually really nice this year. We weren't freezing and we weren't soaking wet. I was able to get my deer on the first weekend. I was so excited, a little 3 point. He's no monster buck, but the biggest one I have shot. The next weekend Kelly got his. It's only a 2 x 3, but it's a really, really nice deer. It is bigger than some of the 4 points we have at home. Needless to say we have plenty of meet in the freezer. Tyree was a trooper for every weekend. I think she loves it as much as we do. It was great hunting season, we can't wait till next year.

Tuesday the 18th was Tyree's 1st birthday! It is crazy to think that at this time last year I was a brand new mom, and now I have a 1 year old. It has been such a fun year. They say your life changes after you have a child, and yes it does. It takes a lot longer to get ready, and you have to take a ton more stuff everywhere you go. For those people who say your life ends, or you never get to do the same things anymore, they apparently don't know how to adapt. We still do all the same things Tyree just comes with us. She likes to go and do things, it doesn't really matter what it is as long as she can go. It amazes me how much she has grown and learned. She walks everywhere now. She jabbers, but the only real words are mom, dad, hi and bye. She waves when she says Hi and Bye. Tyree loves music, shoes, and animals. She knows which toys are Chichi's, and she will pick them up and try to give them to her, or throw the ball down the stairs for her to get.

So to celebrate her birthday we had cake and ice cream on Saturday with grandparents, great-grandparents, cousins, and friends. We were up to Grays Lake, since it is hunting season, so it was fun to have it outside. On Monday we had another little celebration for Cali, Gideon, Parker, and Uncle Ryan. They were unable to come up to Grays Lake. This time we had cupcakes and cheesecake. She got some great stuff, some clothes, toys, and of course her very first pink rope. Thanks to everyone.  I didn't get any pictures of her on her actual birthday, but trust me she looked so cute. She wore this darling outfit that Cali and the kids gave her the night before, and had her hair in piggy tails. We didn't do to much but hang around the house, then went to town to run some errands. She did however eat her first chicken nugget (actually she ate 2), and got her toenails painted for the first time. It was a great start to our week.

Really fast

I have to be really fast because I need to get to work. Tyree is still asleep for just a min, and I haven't updated forever. Here it is in a nutshell. Our summer has just flown by, but it has been awesome. We have been so busy working and on the weekends enjoying the warm weather. Our 4th of July was awesome. We both had some time off so we went to some BBQ's, and to the rodeo. I have been playing on a golf league all summer with my girlfriend. We actually did pretty good. We ended up first in points overall for the league. At the final tournament I got 3rd in my flight ( or grouping according to your handicap), and I got the longest drive. It was a lot of fun. Now I am playing coed softball until the end of Sept.  Kelly is still great, his work keeps him really busy. He got to judge a few rodeos, and is looking forward to hunting season. He loves his little girl, and is such an amazing father. Speaking of the little girl, I could go on, and on. She has changed so much, and does the cutest things ever. I don't have time right now, maybe the next post, so I will just hit the highlights. Tyree is the cutest thing you have ever seen. People stop me and tell me how pretty she is. She babbles all the time, although she doesn't say any real words except "dadda", "ma", and "go". She just got her 7th tooth, no more baby food. She eats whatever we eat, especially if it's on our plate. I just need to get her off formula and on real milk. Tyree is walking now, after a month or so of walking around furniture she finally took off this week. Also I put her hair in her first ponytail this week. She is a little copycat already. For all of my sisters, she loves shoes. She brings you her shoes to put on, or she tries to put on your shoes if they are laying there. Tyree loves to be outside, and she sticks everything in her mouth, dirt, grass, flowers, rocks. Also she LOVES animals. We are trying to teach her "gentle" because she has started pulling ears and tails. She is growing up so fast, I can't believe she is almost one. I will try to get a post up after Labor Day when I have a little more time.

Bath Time!!

Bath time is so much fun!!
Tyree loves taking baths, and she does such a good job. She is not scared. Showers are not her favorite. I think they make her a little nervous, but she still does a good job. The other day she had her first bath with cousins. The 3 of them did well, Gideon was so good at keeping his arm behind her so she didn't fall over.
In other news everything here is the same. Tyree is growing so fast, 9 months already. She is about 18 lbs and 27 inches. She crawls everywhere and has started puling herself up to standing. In addition to her two bottom teeth, she is getting 3 on the top. One of the very front ones is missing, I hope it catches up or she is going to look funny, but cute. Already she is a little copycat. If you make a face she tries to make it, if you spit she will try. Nothing in my house is safe anymore, as I'm watching her dump all of the magazines out of the basket. I am amazed all of the time at how smart she is, and how fast she can learn something. She is happy all the time. She loves to talk, and sing, and wave her arms. When she wakes up she doesn't even cry, you just hear her in there talking to herself.
As you all know Kelly and I are outside people, so we just take her along and she loves it. As long as she can be doing what ever you are doing she is happy. We went fishing for Fathers day. It was her first time on the boat but she loved it. She kept trying to grab the fish we caught. So things are going really well, and hopefully we have a lot of great summer adventures ahead of us.

A little bit of everything.

So everything is going really well. Tyree is growing like crazy. She still only has the two teeth on the bottom, but they are so cute when she smiles big. She loves to roll, and can get anything she wants that way. I can't believe how happy she is all the time. Super smiley and she loves to talk, and sing, it's awesome! Also she loves to eat. I haven't found much she doesn't like. Anything she can feed herself she loves. I could sit and watch her feed herself all day. It's so cute.
Easter was great. It was nice to have Uncle Ryan here. That morning we got up and Tyree got into her basket, and then we went and had breakfast at Aunt Cali's. I don't have any pictures of her in a dress because she was asleep when we went to church so I didn't want to wake her.

A couple of weeks ago we branded cows. It was her first branding, and she loved all the action.
She got to wear these super cute boots. I've been waiting for her to have a chance to wear them. I know Mother's Day isn't for a few more days, but I already got my gift. It's a greenhouse! I don't have a picture yet but I will get one. It's not a permanent one, just something I can put up to get my flowers started in the spring. It's great, I love it.
